What sponsorship buys
Sponsorship buys placement — banner ads, sponsored content blocks, newsletter ad units — and nothing else. Sponsorship does not buy editorial coverage, favorable framing, or input into story selection.
Sponsored content labeling
Any content paid for or commissioned by a sponsor is labeled SPONSORED at the top of the piece and may not be categorized as news or investigative reporting. Sponsored content runs in lifestyle / general categories only, with the sponsor named.
Disclosure
When we cover a topic in which a current or recent sponsor has a stake, we run a disclosure block at the top of the article naming the relationship. The decision to cover the topic is editorial; the disclosure is mandatory regardless.
Acceptance & refusal
We refuse sponsorship from advertisers whose business is incompatible with our mission. The publisher reserves the right to refuse any sponsorship, and reviewed sponsors pass through an acceptance workflow with an editorial-side veto.
Ownership disclosure
The Nashville Maroon is owned by the same principals as Alkebu-Lan Images and Harambe House. Articles touching either entity carry a standing disclosure.
