Sourcing
We attribute every factual claim to a public record, a named source, or a clearly-labeled on-the-record interview. Investigative pieces require a minimum of three independent sources, at least one of which is on the record.
Anonymity
We grant anonymity only when a source faces concrete professional, legal, or safety risk for speaking publicly — and never to spread accusations the source would not make on the record. When we use unnamed sources we explain why.
Corrections
If we publish a factual error we correct it, label the correction at the top of the piece, and preserve the original wording in a note. We do not silently edit history.
Conflicts of interest
The Nashville Maroon is owned by the same principals as Alkebu-Lan Images and Harambe House. Any article that touches a related entity carries a disclosure block at the top. Reporters and editors recuse themselves from coverage of organizations they hold a personal stake in.
